My Google Homepage Goes Back To The Future, Due to an igoogle Update Problem.

Imagine spending a year slowly adding and removing and tweaking information displayed on the page you most use on the internet. You get everything exactly how you like it. Your blogs are all fed to one area, the hot deals sites are all on your shopping tab, you have Google reader installed in multiple locations. with different folders all arranged to be easy to read. If a new Wii game is announced you would know, if your wife posts a blog bam it is right there. Well now the igoogle homepage made all my hard work vanished. It is still my homepage. It is exactly as I had it last year. My Google homepage has gone back in time. Obviously I'm very frustrated. I don't know if google will have a fix for this anytime soon. I don't know if they care since its a free service what can I really do. I doubt I'm the only one with this problem, although I hope I am. The rest of you fortunate people should be thankful igoogle didn't kill your homepage.  Please leave me a comment if anyone knows how this happened or how to fix it, or if your just frustrated yourself.

The exact same thing

The exact same thing happened to me this morning too. I've been looking around the web and it seems the same thing happened 4 or 5 days ago to some users and they fixed it 24 hours later. No word yet on this new glitch.

I completely understand!

I just had the same thing happen to me. Glad to know I'm not the only one. I've had even stranger problems. I attempted to rebuild my page when I notice some random gadgets had been added that I had never seen before. I was worried that something got mixed up on their backend, but I think you're right; it does seem that they reset the settings to what I had originally selected when I started using the Personalized home page 5 months ago.

To bad I'm not the only one

This is one of those things you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.

Very strange

I finally accepted that 5 months worth of work was lost and had re-done my home page. But just a couple minutes ago, I realized that my page had changed again, this time for the better. I've only done a quick check, but it appears my settings were restored. Hopefully yours were too.

Nope still not fixed for me

Thats encouraging though I'd love for my Google homepage to go back the way it was.
