Ask a Ninja

One of my favorite websites ask a ninja. He does comedy videos that really are hilarious.  He is trying to turn December 5th into "Day of the Ninja."  So check out his special delivery video about it and see if you can't help to generate some online buzz about ninjas on December 5th.  It is an interesting experiment from an online marketing perspective to see how much influence a popular video blog can really have on internet traffic when it is focused on one single day.

I'll check Technorati the day before and the day after to see how much change their is on ninja. Thanks for reading I look forward to  killing you soon!

Some thoughts about websites.

What is my favorite website? If you asked me based on which site I use the most, then Google. If you ask based on which site I spend the most money, then eBay. Being in the website business sometimes people would think that I'd have really nerdy hard to use sites that I go spend money at or use to look for things, but that is not at all the case. In fact most of the time I want to find a simple site that I can quickly find what I'm looking for and is easy to use. Most online shoppers are the same way. Many websites are designed by small companies and the nerd building the site is arrogant enough to think the site itself is the focus. They will build a site with moving navigation, and sound effects that try to say look at how cool this site is. They will create a site looks great in the process, the problem is it distracts the user from the real reason why they are there. It is like the annoying sales person that won't shut up long enough for you to actually ask a question about the car you want to buy. A successful website like Google is simple and completely focused on what you came to the site for; in Google's case searching. No distracting unnecessary design, just the basics. Based on my browser history here is a list of sites that I go to frequently in order of most used. If you look at them you will probably notice they are mostly very simple. (click read more)

A Great Week

Saturday the 18th of November around 3 P.M. my wife started setting out in the cold in front of Wal-Mart for me.  If you know my wife, then you know she hates cold weather.  She waited nine hours to purchase my Christmas present, a Nintendo Wii.  I've never owned anything that is this much fun to do with friends before.  Everyone who comes over loves playing with us, and the only multiplayer game we have is Wii sports which comes with the system.  My wife has proven once again that in addition to being ridiculously good looking, she is also the sweetest woman on the planet.  Visit her blog to get to know her.

US Marshalls Museum lunch

Yesterday I went to a huge lunch that was to show support for the US Marshalls Museum.  It was at the Fort Smith Holiday Inn.  It easily had a 1000 people cheering and showing what our towns history means to them.  I think we really showed the selection commity how much Fort Smith deserves the US Marshalls Museum.  It was great!  Except for the food, that kind of sucked.

If the museum does come to Fort Smith it will give  us more work to do around the office since we are building the site, but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I'm going to try and work on the look of my site over the next few weeks, but for now I've got to go back to work.   Thanks for Reading.

I just joined the Young Emerging Leaders Group

I was recently invited to join the Young Emerging Leaders Group.  I attended my first meeting yesterday at Fianna Hills Country Club.  It was somewhat interesting since I enjoy meeting new people and learning about various businesses.  The Speaker they had was a little dull, but he did give a little insight into the world of a doctor.  The highlight for me was meeting a man named Jackie Flake who is one of the pastors of Eastside baptist here in Fort Smith.  I have had an idea for a church website for several months that I've wanted to build but this the first church that I've gotten to share it with.  I really hope we build this it would be great for the church as well as for the community.  I may give some more details on that as we get closer to building it.  I don't know how I'm going to finish all my work for the next two days I've been so busy I haven't had time to finish any of the website proposals I need by tomorrow.  I guess I really need to get back to work.  thanks for reading...
